IPL 2026: Who is Ramakrishna Ghosh? CSK’s new all-rounder handed IPL debut vs MI

Ramakrishna Ghosh has stepped into the spotlight after being handed his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in their high-profile clash against Mumbai Indians at Chepauk. The Indian all-rounder, picked up for his base price of ₹30 lakh, comes in as part of two changes made by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.Ghosh replaces Gurjapneet Singh in the XI, with CSK also bringing in Prashant Veer for Akeal Hosein. A right-arm medium pacer and right-handed batter, Ghosh has built his reputation through steady domestic performances for Maharashtra. He made headlines during the Vijay Hazare Trophy when he produced a stunning spell of 7 for 42 against Himachal Pradesh, becoming one of the few players to take seven wickets in a List A game. That performance firmly put him on the radar.He has also shown his ability with the bat. In the same tournament, he smashed a quick 64 off 27 balls against Mumbai, underlining his value as a lower-order hitter. His all-round skills were further evident in the Maharashtra Premier League, where he contributed impactful cameos, including a 52 off 33 balls.Primarily known for his disciplined bowling, Ghosh relies on accuracy, seam movement and consistency rather than raw pace.
