‘Iran is like ballet and opera’: Saturday Night Live drags Timothée Chalamet into its latest Trump parody — watch

Saturday Night Live doesn’t forget to mock Timothee Chalamet over his viral comments on opera and ballet in the March 14 episode. On Saturday, in the SNL cold open, James Austin Johnson, who played Donald Trump, said, “Iran is like ballet and opera, and we’re Timmy Chalamet.”“I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera where it’s like, ‘Hey! Keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore,'” he said back in February. “All respect to the ballet and opera people out there. I just lost 14 cents in viewership. I’m taking shots for no reason.” The cold open began with cast members Mikey Day, Ashley Padilla, Marcello Hernández and Sarah Sherman playing a family on a road trip, frustrated as they watched fuel prices climb. The scene was quickly interrupted by James Austin Johnson portraying Trump, who launched into a monologue poking fun at his campaign promises. “You might remember me from such campaign promises as lower gas prices and no more wars,” Johnson’s Trump joked. “But now gas costs like a million billion dollars a gallon.”Later in the segmenet, Colin Jost returned as secretary of war Pete Hegseth, who said, “I’ll tell you the same thing I say when people ask about our plans for Iran: I don’t know,” and “You babies in the media are completely unpatriotic. They’re using what I do and say to make me look like a fool in there.”
