Sunita Ahuja Reveals ‘Big Sacrifice’ She Made For Govinda After Marriage: Isko Patane Ke Liye…

Veteran actor Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been married for 37 years and are parents to two children. Sunita Ahuja has always been known for candid remarks. In a throwback clip, she revealed how she had to learn cooking and new traditions just to win her husband’s heart.

In a candid conversation with Curly Tales, Sunita shared that she had met Govinda when she was 16 years old. She said that, “I knew Govinda is a foodie, so I thought, isko patane ke liye khana banana Sikh lo bhaiya.. tabhi yeah admi control mein rahega”. She also revealed that her first ever meal she made for him was bhindi (okra) and toor daal.

Sunita also shared how she had to learn new style of cooking as mother-in-law had strict diet in which onion and garlic had to be excluded. She further revealed that she had to adapt new household food traditions as well.

According to bollywoodshaadis.com, before Govinda tied the know with Sunita Ahuja, he got smitten by Neelam since the very first moment he had met her and had also confessed about his “undying endearment” for Neelam in an interview with Stardust. The actor had later gone on to reveal that the reason why he did not reveal about his marriage with Sunita to Neelam was because he “did not want to break the successful screen pair”.

In an interview with Stardust magazine in 1990, Govinda admitted that he had once broken off his engagement with Sunita to be with Neelam Kothari. The actor also shared that if his now-wife had not persuaded him to be with her, he would have married Neelam, who did not get married until 2000.

For the unversed, Govind and Sunita got married  in 1987 and reportedly kept their marriage a secret for four years. They have two children, daughter Narmada “Tina” Ahuja and son Yashvardhan. Their second daughter who was born premature died at three months of age.
