As per the report, Udit Narayan alleged that Ranjana Jha is trying to ‘extort’ money from him. Previously, a case with regard to this was filed with the Bihar Women’s Commission and the matter was settled there. Udit is said to financially support his first wife by providing her with a monthly allowance of ₹25,000. Additionally, he has also given her a farmland and house worth ₹1 crore and jewellery worth ₹25 Lakhs.

Speaking to the media after the court hearing, Ranjana shared that Udit kept the ₹18 Lakhs from the sale of land for himself which was her right. She further alleged that she is followed by goons and faces threats every time she enters Mumbai. Rajana stressed that as she is growing older and her health is deteriorating all she wants is to reconcile with her husband and for them to live together. Udit Narayan, however, has denied this request of hers.

In 1985, Udit Narayan tied the knot with Deepa Gahatraj. They welcomed their son, Aditya Narayan, two years later. It was only in 2006 that Ranjana Jha claimed to be the first wife of Udit Narayan. The singer initially declined to accept him, but later accepted the relationship and assured her maintenance. Ranjana claimed that their relationship turned sour when Udit went to Mumbai for better work opportunities and ignored their marriage. She also alleged that he never informed her of his second marriage or sought divorce. The official records of the same remain unknown.
