‘Janta Gusse Mein…’: Vipul Goyal Makes Mockery Of India’s Got Latent Controversy, Says Dad Suggested ‘Sarkari Gawah Ban Ja’

Comedian Vipul Goyal has found an opportunity in controversy as he made jokes about the developing India’s Got Latent controversy. While an obscenity case is being probed against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchalani and Jaspreet Singh over some objectionable remarks made on one of the episodes of the parody show on YouTube, Vipul, who has also been a guest panelist on Latent before it was shut down, was seen addressing the legal stir that has been caused and how comedians are handling this situation.

During the video, Vipul also disclosed that he had appeared before the authorities and recorded his statement. However, he refrained from providing details about what he had said during an appearance before the police. “Did you see the controversy around India’s Got Latent, how they blamed us? You guys must have enjoyed it, right?” Vipul quipped, adding, “People are saying that people on Latent should be hanged. People are angry. Whenever comedians are caught in a controversy, Sunil Pal makes a comment.” He went on to joke about Mukesh Khanna sharing his thoughts on the row.

“50 FIRs have been registered against people. Now Police have to arrange 50 donkeys and if they don’t get 50, they will make us parade according to episodes that have aired,” he further joked about the matter.

Meanwhile, on Monday, YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber to record their statements in connection with India’s Got Latent case, officials said. Responding to summons issued by Maharashtra Cyber, Allahbadia and Chanchlani reached its headquarters at Mahape in Navi Mumbai in the afternoon.

Samay, who is the host and creator of India’s Got Latent is in the US for his comedy tour and has sought a day in March for appearing before the cops in this matter.
