Indian-origin immigration consultant called 'Visa King' from Brampton goes viral: 'Making a fortune in Canada'

An Indian-origin immigration consultant based in Brampton has gone viral online after branding himself the “Canadian Visa King” on Instagram. In videos shared on his Facebook account with the username ‘Visa King office Canada Channi Bhai’ and now viral on X and Reddit, the consultant is seen flaunting a luxury watch worth $300,000 according to internet users, while boasting about the number of Canadian visas he claims to have secured for clients. The clips have stirred a row, and with netizens claiming this is what happens when you allow ‘third-world’ to manage an immigration system which is foreign to them in many ways.

On social media, people said this kind of content makes it look flashy and successful, while hiding the fact that the industry often makes money off desperate people looking for a better life. Several X posts claim the consultant is “making a fortune” by selling the dream of Canada, while others accuse immigration consultants, who approve visas for foreigners, of exploiting loopholes in the system by prioritising their loved ones or the ones who bribe them. These claims remain unproven, but they are spreading like wildfire in Canada and even the USA, A lot of criticism focuses on the LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) program. According to allegations, LMIA-linked jobs in trucking, farming, and hospitality are being sold to migrants through informal networks operating between Punjab and Canada. Some posts claim these networks work through unregistered agencies. Again, these are not court-proven facts. Some users also said migrants arrive in Canada heavily indebted and vulnerable to pressure or exploitation.Under Canadian law, Indian citizens require visas or permits to enter Canada, including visitor visas, study permits, work permits, or permanent residence pathways. Applications are processed by IRCC, and approvals depend on eligibility and documentation.
