Airtel has announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with Apple under which select customers will be eligible for exclusive subscriptions to Apple Music and Apple TV+ services. The telecom company said its postpaid and Wi-Fi customers will receive free subscriptions to Apple’s growing entertainment-focused platforms when they buy at least the ₹999 plan.
“This collaboration offers an extraordinary opportunity to millions of our Home Wi-Fi and Postpaid customers, giving them access to Apple’s premium content catalogue,” said Siddharth Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer and CEO of Connected Homes at Bharti Airtel.
Commenting on the partnership, Shalini Poddar, Director-Content and Services at Apple India, said, “The partnership aligns with our strategic goal of making award-winning content, stories, and entertainment readily accessible, with something for everyone.”
Airtel’s postpaid and Home Wi-Fi customers recharging their accounts with plans starting at ₹999 will receive access to Apple TV+ with the option to stream content on multiple devices, including smartphones and televisions. They are also eligible for six months of free Apple Music subscription when they use the offer for their existing Apple Music account. Alternatively, they can tap the banner in the Airtel app to receive benefits on a new Apple Music account. These plans also bundle data, calls, and memberships to other OTT platforms.
The announcement comes weeks after Airtel discontinued its music streaming app Wynk Music and urged customers to switch to Apple Music. The company offered complimentary access to Apple Music to select Wynk Music subscribers last December.
