Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 10: Film Registers Stellar Second Weekend, Becomes Vicky Kaushal’s Highest Grosser



Chhaava Box Office Collection: The Vicky Kaushal starrer historical drama hit the big screens on February 14. The Laxman Utekar directorial is a period drama that portrays the legendary story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The film has been drawing audiences to houseful theatre ever since its release and has amassed a total of ₹ 326.75 Cr in the 10-day theatrical run in the domestic market.

How much did Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava mint at the box office on the second weekend?  

Chhaava became the highest Bollywood opener of the year by minting ₹31 crore on day 1. The historical drama maintained steady momentum at the box office and raked in ₹85.5 crore on the opening weekend, as per Sacnilk. Despite new releases like Mere Husband Ki Biwi, the Vicky Kaushal-Rashmika Mandanna starrer remains unstoppable at the box office.

On the second Saturday of release, Chhaava collected ₹44 crore. The film added another ₹40 crore to its kitty on the second Sunday of release, February 23. Chhaava started out performing well in regions of Maharashtra but with good word of mouth and positive reviews, the business grew in other markets as well. With a stellar second weekend collection, the Vicky Kaushal‘s film has beat Hindi biggies like Gadar 2 (₹38.9 crore), Baahubali 2 (₹34.5 crore), Jawan (₹34.26 crore) and Animal (₹33.53 crore) in the single-day second Sunday business. In the 10-day theatrical run, Chhaava has minted close to ₹326.75 Cr at the domestic market and is expected to maintain a steady pace at the ticketing counter in the coming week as well.

With Chhaava, Vicky Kaushal has delivered his career best. In just 10 days, the historical drama surpassed the lifetime collections of Uri: The Surgical Strike, Raazi, and Sam Bahadur. In the Laxman Utekar directorial, Vicky plays the lionhearted Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who ascended the throne following his father’s demise. The actor’s performance in the movie has received glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike.

Chhaava has topped the 2019 film Uri: The Surgical Strike (₹ 244.14 Cr) to become Vicky’s highest-grosser. It must be noted that Dunki and Sanju, wherein Vicky made cameo appearances are not included in the list. This is followed by Raazi (₹ 123.74 Cr) in the third spot and Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur (₹ 93.95 Cr) in the fourth position, as per Sacnilk.
