Mere Husband Ki Biwi Box Office Day 3: Arjun, Bhumi, Rakul’s Triad Unable To Brave Chhaava Storm On Opening Weekend

Mere Husband Ki Biwi Box Office Collection: The Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh starrer hit the big screens on February 21. The film opened to a mixed response from the audience and the same has translated into box office numbers as well. The movie has failed to impress on the big screens and has been unable to deter competition from Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava, that released a week before.

Arjun Kapoor plays the lead role in the comedy-drama that narrates the story of a love triangle. In the film, Bhumi Pednekar plays his ex-wife, while Rakul Preet Singh is seen in the role of his girlfriend. The trailer sparked mockery over the complex plot and cast. A negative word of mouth seems to have impacted the box office collections of Mere Husband Ki Biwi.

The movie opened to ₹ 1.5 Cr in the domestic market. Mere Husband Ki Biwi witnessed slight growth on the first Saturday by minting ₹1.7 crore. However, the collection further declined on Sunday and the movie raked in ₹1.25 crore, as per Sacnilk. In the 3-day theatrical run, Mere Husband Ki Biwi has amassed a total of ₹4.45 crore.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi released a week after Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava. Despite being a new release, the Arjun Kapoor starrer has been unable to beat the historical drama. While the comedy-drama has minted ₹4.45 crore on the opening weekend, Chhaava raked in close to ₹107 crore on the same weekend.

Mudassar Aziz has directed Mere Husband Ki Biwi, with Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh producing the film. The film’s cast includes Aditya Seal, Dino Morea, Harsh Gujral, Shakti Kapoor, and others in pivotal roles. The story follows Arjun Kapoor as Ankur, a Delhi-based realtor who starts a new romance with Rakul Preet Singh’s character after facing challenges and divorcing his ex-wife, portrayed by Bhumi Pednekar, who suffers from retrograde amnesia.
