Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri Udhayanidhi Staln along with the actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan inaugurated the FICCI Media and Entertainment Business Conclave South in Chennai. After veteran actor was appointed as Chairman of the FICCI Media and Entertainment Committee, South spoke about his long term-term vision for Indian cinema and how will it evolve in coming years.
After Kamal Haasan was appointed as the chairman, he emphasised on exploring media landscape. In addition, the veteran actor reportedly said how a language shouldn’t be imposed on a child. As per the source of ANI, during the event he said, “People of Tamil Nadu who have given life for the language, please do not impose it. Even a young child can decide what language they want to learn or not and don’t make us take decisions hastily by imposing Hindi”.

On work front, Kamal Haasan will next be seen in Thug Life. Produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Film International, Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, Thug Life promises a remarkable cinematic experience. With cinematography by Ravi K Chandran, music by AR Rahman , and editing by Sreekar Prasad, the film aims to be a stunning visual and auditory treat.
Apart from Kamal Haasan, the film will stars Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar and Mahesh Manjrekar among others. The action film is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 5, 2025. He also has Indian 3 in the pipeline. Kamal Haasan was last seen in Indian 2: Zero Tolerance, which turned out to be a box office dud.
