From December 3 to 6, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) will transform into a kaleidoscope of creativity as DesignInspire 2025 returns under the theme “Where Connections Spark Inspiration”.
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and co-organised by Hong Kong Design Centre, with sponsorship from the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, this year’s edition presents an exhibition of design excellence that reaffirms Hong Kong’s role as a meeting point between East and West.
DesignInspire is envisioned as a living forum built on connections, a place where industry players and design lovers come together to exchange ideas, forge collaborations and share stories across continents. Through its global pavilions, visionary talks and immersive experiences, the event celebrates the power of connection and reminds visitors that design is both an industry and a language.
The headline collaboration this year, BOTTEGA HONG KONG curated by design master Alan Chan, captures that spirit just perfectly. It marks a creative conversation between Italy and Hong Kong, two cultures that have long mirrored each other in artistry, craftsmanship and design.
“The connection between Italy and Chinese Mainland is not new. It’s a continuation of exchanges that began hundreds of years ago – in food, art and design. These exchanges created a visual and cultural vocabulary that still resonates today,” says Chan as he sees this collaboration as more than a curatorial partnership.
