Riyan Parag shines in record-shortest Ranji Trophy match in 63 years

A historic Ranji Trophy match between Assam and Services has set a new record as the shortest game in 63 years, concluding in just 90 overs at the Tinsukia District Sports Association Ground in Kachujan.Services secured an eight-wicket victory over Assam, marking their second consecutive win in the 2025/26 season, following their previous triumph against Tripura in Delhi. The first innings saw Assam dismissed for 103 runs in 17.2 overs, featuring remarkable performances by Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra. Sharma claimed 5/46 while Jangra took 3/5, with both bowlers achieving hat-tricks in the same innings, a first in first-class cricket.Services took a modest five-run lead, scoring 108 runs in 29.2 overs. Riyan Parag delivered his career-best bowling performance for Assam, taking 5 wickets for 25 runs, while Rahul Singh supported with four wickets.Assam’s second innings proved challenging as they were bowled out for 75 runs in 29.3 overs.
