IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Match Day 4: West Indies show resilience after India enforced follow-on

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Match Day 4: The West Indies ended day three of the second Test against India at 173/2 in their second innings, still needing 97 runs to make India bat again after following on at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. The visitors lost two wickets before tea, but opener John Campbell, unbeaten on 87, and Shai Hope, 66, added a crucial 138-run unbroken partnership — the highest for the West Indies in any Test this year.

India’s left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball in the first innings, claiming five wickets to bowl out the West Indies for 248, a deficit of 270, allowing captain Shubman Gill to enforce the follow-on. Campbell survived a few close lbw calls early in his innings, while Hope reached his fifty off Ravindra Jadeja, raising his bat to the applauding dressing room.

India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate defended the follow-on, describing it as “a good test in the legs” for the team. West Indies spinner Khary Pierre praised the team’s application, noting that accumulating more runs would make the deteriorating pitch challenging for the Indian batsmen.

The visitors’ first innings had seen early collapses, with Tevin Imlach, Justin Greaves, and Jomel Warrican falling cheaply. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah provided breakthroughs, while Kuldeep completed his fifth five-wicket haul in 15 Tests. Jayden Seales was fined 25% of his match fee for showing unnecessary aggression on day one.

India had dominated the series opener in Ahmedabad, winning by an innings and 140 runs, and remain in a commanding position to seal the series.
