Team India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has shared his thoughts about facing Pakistan for the third time in the Asia Cup 2025.India have successfully chased down targets set by Pakistan in their previous two encounters during the tournament.When asked about facing Pakistan three times in the same tournament, Bumrah responded with a single word – “interesting.”“It has been exciting. You start with confidence, but you do not go too high or too low. We only focus on our teams, our strengths, our combinations, we do well. If we look at the other team, it does not work well,” he added.India remains undefeated as they enter the final, while Pakistan has faced two losses, both against India.Bumrah discussed his role in bowling during the Powerplay, mentioning that the team management wants him to bowl early in the innings.He noted that this reminds him of his early international career in 2016 when he performed a similar role.“It is a different role. The team has wanted to use me up front. Something that is very new for me as well. Not used to doing this role. Remember doing it in 2016 when I first came into the side. Trying to contribute to the best of my ability,” Bumrah said.Bumrah has been rested for two matches during the Asia Cup tournament.He shared his views on the T20 format and how the Indian Premier League (IPL) has influenced players’ confidence.“In this format, you do not look at reputation. IPL has helped a lot. Youngsters in our team are confident and they know they are very good,” Bumrah said.He emphasised that India will carry confidence from their previous victories over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025.However, he maintained that both teams will start fresh in the final encounter.The teams have demonstrated strong performances throughout the tournament, setting up an exciting final match.
