There is one thing that I did and it’s become a bit of a superstition. Today, Asia Cup finals, India vs Pakistan. Let’s go. Let’s go, let’s go. So not doing a good job. But the point is not to iron it properly. The point is that I tried to iron it. Now on the day of the final, when I have ironed, India has won. That’s the good point.”Karthik traced the origin of the ritual to his playing days in the West Indies. “I started this because when I was in the West Indies, they said it’ll take three days for the clothes to come back. And the final was the same day. So then I did it myself here, right now in India. If I give it, it’ll come back in 10 minutes. But still I have to do it. Okay, all the best, Team India. I have done my bit. Time for you guys to go out there and smash it,” he added.Watch:Dinesh Karthik’s quirky superstitionIndia head into the high-octane finale as firm favourites, unbeaten in the tournament with six consecutive wins, including two commanding victories over Pakistan — seven wickets in the group stage and six wickets in the Super Fours.Karthik’s superstition, which coincided with wins in previous World T20 and Champions Trophy finals, adds a playful twist to the pre-match buildup.
