Emmanuel Dennis is a free agent after Nottingham Forest confirmed he left the club by mutual consent on August 31, 2025. The 27-year-old Nigerian striker is being linked with Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab, who, according to reports, are talking about a possible two-year deal. Dennis wants regular games after several loan spells in Turkey and in England’s Championship. The move would be attractive because he would not need a transfer fee and, sources say, his wages are not expected to stop a deal.

Emmanuel Dennis career updates and loan spell performances

Though he spent much of the past two seasons away on loan, Emmanuel Dennis joined Nottingham Forest in August 2022. In the Turkish Super Lig, he played for İstanbul Başakşehir before rejoining England on loan at Blackburn Rovers and later Watford. He has shown moments of speed and scoring threat across those spells but has not found a lengthy string of games, so he is looking for continuous minutes right now. Forest’s official statement on August 31 made his free-agent status clear, and his career history and loan numbers are listed on public player databases. Dennis has said in interviews he wants to play regularly and rebuild his confidence on the field.

Josh Brownhill signing shows Al-Shabab transfer strategy

Josh Brownhill recently joined Al-Shabab, a sign the Saudi club is adding experienced players to push higher in the league. Al-Shabab’s recruitment of players like Brownhill shows they are willing to pay and offer clear roles, which could suit Dennis if talks progress. Reporters covering the transfer market say Al-Shabab view free agents as good value because they avoid paying fees, and that makes a two-year contract for Dennis possible if both sides agree on terms. The story first broke publicly in reports on September 22, 2025, and remains one to watch as the transfer window activity continues.
