Naushad Khan, father and long-time coach of cricketers Sarfaraz and Musheer Khan, has drawn widespread attention after a video of his weight-loss transformation went viral on Instagram. The 55-year-old, who has shaped both sons into top-level players, has shed 33 kilograms in 5 months – a journey he described as one of discipline, diet, and perseverance. Shared by both Sarfaraz and Musheer on social media, the clip showcased a striking before-and-after comparison, revealing the scale of his transformation. Naushad admitted it was not an easy process but said the motivation was simple – to regain fitness, feeling youthful again, and being able to play with his grandchildren. He recalled how Musheer would often tease him during training sessions. “He would pinch my belly and ask ‘what about this’ when I took the initiative to train him and focus on his fitness,” Naushad revealed, with a smile. Naushad credited clean eating and a strict regime for his progress. “Our whole family is focused on a weight-losing mission,” he told TOI earlier in May. “Sarfaraz has lost nine kilograms too in six weeks, which isn’t easy, and he’s raring to lose more weight.”Watch his inspiring transformation

Sarfaraz, long criticised for being overweight despite consistent performances, has also slimmed down significantly, losing close to 10 kilograms in a month. The family’s routine has included daily gym sessions at the MCA’s BKC facility, long walks and jogs, swimming, and a strict diet of boiled chicken, eggs, sautéed vegetables, and green tea.
