With many residents planning trips for the upcoming long weekend public holiday, DXB’s advisory highlights potential travel challenges due to road works affecting key access routes. Passengers heading to the airport during this period are urged to plan ahead to avoid last-minute delays.

Travel disruptions and recommendations

Road works near the airport will restrict lane availability, which is likely to slow down vehicle movement on the roads leading to Terminals 1 and 3. This is expected to impact both inbound and outbound traffic during the three-day period. As a result, DXB is advising all passengers travelling to these terminals to allow extra time for their journeys. To ease travel and reduce the risk of being caught in traffic congestion, the airport recommends using the Dubai Metro. The Metro provides a convenient, reliable alternative to road travel and connects directly to the terminals, allowing passengers to bypass any road delays entirely.

Travel trends for the long weekend

The advisory comes at a time when travel demand is on the rise. Many residents are taking advantage of the public holiday after the summer months. Travel agencies report increased bookings, particularly from bachelors and newlyweds who remained in the city over the summer, while families took overseas vacations. This surge in travel means the airport and roads will likely be busier than usual during this period.
