Kristi Noem slams CBS: DHS chief claims media company 'whitewashed' criminal's ties with MS-13 gang - watch

Kristi Noem, secretary of the US department of homeland security, lashed out at CBS News for allegedly editing her interview to “whitewash” the truth about Kilmar Abrego García’s connection with the MS-13 gang. Taking to X, Noem said that she joined CBS News to report the facts about Kilmar Ábrego García, who was mistakenly sent to El Salvador during a crackdown on immigration. Noem alleged that CBS News edited that part when she was elaborating on crimes committed by García. “This morning, I joined CBS to report the facts about Kilmar Ábrego García. Instead, CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety,” she said in a post on X.Noem also posted a video that drew a sharp difference between what she actually said and what was aired by the news media after editing. In the video, Noem can be heard saying, “And the one thing that we will continue to do is to make sure that he doesn’t walk free in the United States of America. This individual was a known human smuggler, a MS-13 gang member, an individual who was a wife beater, and someone who was so perverted that he solicited nude photos from minors. And even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off.” “He was so sick in what he was doing and how he was treating small children. So he needs to never be in the United States of America. And our administration is making sure we’re doing all that we can to bring him to justice,” she added. Garcia came into the spotlight once again after Trump administration said that it plans to deport García to Uganda, months after he was mistakenly sent to El Salvador.
