Former US President Bill Clinton is facing renewed questions about his health after being seen in the Hamptons carrying what appeared to be a portable defibrillator. Several visuals of Clinton have gone viral on social media, sparking concerns about his health. They showed the 79-year-old Democrat and his wife, Hillary, being accompanied by someone. Hillary was seen holding a device resembling a Propaq MD Air Medical Bag, Fox News reported. The sighting comes just two months after Clinton was seen stumbling on a New York City sidewalk outside the 92NY cultural center while attending an event for his book, First Gentleman, a political thriller co-authored with James Patterson.Clinton’s health challenges have been public for over two decades. In 2004, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery, after doctors discovered nearly complete blockages in several arteries. He later admitted in an interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America that he had ignored warning signs and urged others with a family history of heart disease to get tested.“That was my fault. I don’t blame my doctors or anybody else. … I was insufficiently vigilant,” Clinton said.In 2010, Clinton underwent another heart procedure in which coronary stents were inserted following chest pain. He subsequently adopted a near-vegan diet, earning recognition from animal rights group PETA as its “2010 Person of the Year” for promoting plant-based eating.Earlier in life, Clinton was known for his hearty appetite. Katz’s Delicatessen in New York City displayed his order, which included two hot dogs, a pastrami sandwich, fries, a diet ginger ale and a decaf coffee.More recently, Clinton has faced additional health challenges, including hospitalization for a urinary tract infection in 2021, a Covid-19 infection in 2022, and another hospitalization for the flu.
