Will South Africa win the ODI series against Australia?

The development came on what was otherwise a memorable day for Subrayen. Making his 50-over debut, he bowled a full quota of ten overs and dismissed the dangerous Travis Head, who was stumped after a failed attempt to charge down the track. Subrayen had earlier made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo this year, where he impressed by taking four wickets in the first innings. His report is a blow to South Africa’s balance, particularly with Kagiso Rabada already sidelined through injury for the three-match series. The Proteas, who edged out Australia in the series opener, are aiming to build on their momentum after narrowly losing the preceding T20I series 1-2.The series now moves to Mackay for the second and third ODIs on August 22 and 24. But with Subrayen’s availability under a cloud, the visitors face an untimely disruption. How the Proteas adjust their spin options could be decisive in maintaining their early advantage against the hosts.
