Sandra Hall, 80, a former member of the legendary singing group The Platters, has been missing for four days after boarding a subway in Brooklyn, according to police and her family.Hall was last seen around 4 pm on Friday at Atlantic Avenue near the Barclays Center and Atlantic Terminal Mall. She reportedly boarded a train from the station. Her family has expressed deep concern, warning that she suffers from dementia and could be confused or disoriented, as reported by New York Post.
“Sandra is more than just our mother; she is a warm, vibrant woman who once brought joy to audiences as part of The Platters,” said her daughter, Star DaSilva. “We just want to bring her home safely.”The family is following up on a possible sighting in the Bronx, after a tip suggested Hall may have taken the 2 train uptown. “We contacted the local precinct and now waiting for word. The person with the tip provided an accurate description so I’m feeling confident about it,” DaSilva wrote on Facebook.Hall is described as being about 5 feet 3 inches tall and was last seen wearing gray pants, white sneakers and a pink shirt layered over a white long-sleeve shirt.The musical band Platters was formed in 1952. It became famous for delivering hits such as Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Only You, and The Great Pretender. Hall joined the group in 1965 under the stage name Sandra Dawn. The last surviving original member, Herb Reed, passed away in 2012 at the age of 83.
