Mohammed Siraj’s match-winning heroics in England earned him praise from one of cricket’s greatest icons in Sachin Tendulkar, and the pacer responded with a heartfelt message. Siraj played a key role in India’s thrilling 2-2 series draw against England, finishing with 23 wickets at an average of 32.43. His fiery spell on the final day of the Oval Test, where he dismissed Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, and Gus Atkinson, sealed a six-run win for India and levelled the series.

Speaking in a video posted by 100MB on X, Tendulkar hailed Siraj’s efforts across the series. “Unbelievable, superb approach. I really like his attitude. I love the spring in his legs,” he said. The legend also praised the consistency in Siraj’s intensity, regardless of the match situation. “If you don’t look at the scoreboard and only at his (Siraj’s) body language, you won’t be able to tell if he’s taken five wickets or not a single one.” Tendulkar went further, noting that even England great Joe Root – the second-highest run-scorer in Test history – would not enjoy facing Siraj. “He’s an ‘always in your face’ bowler,” he remarked. In response, Siraj posted an emotional note on social media: “Thank you sir ❤️❤️🙏🏽.” The pacer’s aggressive style and tireless spells also drew applause from Virat Kohli and other cricketing greats, further cementing his status as one of India’s most impactful Test bowlers in recent years.
