Aboard the world’s largest cruise liner, Royal Caribbean ship Icon of the Seas, panic erupted when a glass panel on a water slide suddenly shattered mid-ride, sending torrents of water cascading onto the deck below, NY Post reported. Dramatic video captures stunned passengers screaming “Stop the slide!” as the deluge poured through the jagged opening.Royal Caribbean said a male guest was injured and treated on board, though details of his condition remain under wraps. Royal Caribbean confirmed that a male guest was injured at the waterpark and received medical attention, though the nature and severity of the injuries were not disclosed. A spokesperson told Storyful, “Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide. The guest is being treated for his injuries.” The slide has been closed for the remainder of the trip as Royal Caribbean investigates the incident. The cruise departed Miami on August 2, 2023, and is scheduled to return to port on Saturday after touring the Caribbean.
