Should Jasprit Bumrah play in the crucial fourth Test against England?

Bumrah, who has dazzled in both the Tests he’s played in the series, was previously expected to sit out one of the final two matches due to workload management. India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate admitted the team is leaning toward playing him in Manchester.“We know we’ve got him for one of the last two Tests. The series is on the line in Manchester, so there will be a leaning towards playing him. But we’ll look at all factors, including his workload and conditions at The Oval,” Doeschate said.

Panesar also questioned the decision to bench Arshdeep Singh, suggesting his left-arm seam and County experience could offer India valuable variety. “I am surprised he didn’t play the first Test. He brings good angles and will be effective in English conditions,” he added. However, Arshdeep’s selection for Manchester remains uncertain after suffering a hand injury during training. Doeschate said, “It’s just a cut, but if he needs stitches, it might affect our planning for the next few days.”
