Middlesex batter Luke Hollman on Wednesday played a shot that has gone viral on social media.Facing Surrey’s captain Sam Curran, Hollman attempted to play a scoop shot, but the left-arm quick bowled a slower one. The Middlesex all-rounder immediately switched his grip and played a reverse switch slap/pull, collecting a boundary.Fans on social media are gushing over the shot and are in a fix about what it should be called.The Middlesex County account tweeted a video on X with the caption: “You cannot do that, Luke Hollman.”In the match, Middlesex, despite Hollman’s heroics, fell short by eight runs.Batting first, Surrey posted 189 for 9, courtesy a fine half-century from opener Will Jacks (52) and a late flourish from Tom Curran (47).For Middlesex, Ryan Higgins (4/33) bagged four wickets, and he was ably supported by Luke Hollman (2/34), who picked up the crucial wickets of Will Jacks and Jason Roy.

In reply, Middlesex scored 181 for 6. Opener Stephen Eskinazi (53) top-scored for Middlesex. Cameos down the order by captain Leus du Plooy (29), Ryan Higgins (29), and Luke Hollman (32 not out) were not enough for Middlesex.For Surrey, Chris Jordan (2/28) was the pick of the bowlers.
