Argos shoppers dash Apple’s newest iPhone at a more affordable price – don’t miss out

It’s incredibly rare to see Apple devices getting a price cut, but that’s exactly what Argos is offering right now. The UK retailer is currently dishing out the very latest iPhone 16e for as little as £549 – that’s a saving of £50 off the usual price. The offer is clearly proving popular with Argos currently showing that the deal is “in demand” and “selling fast”.

It’s worth noting that along with Argos, other retailers have also reduced the cost of this new call maker. Currys and Very have the same discount which means you can pick up the 16e from those stores and pay that £549 price rather than the full £599.

So, what is the iPhone 16e, and should you invest?

This device was launched earlier this year and comes packed with features for a lower price than its iPhone 16 siblings.

For your money, you get a 6.1-inch screen, a fast A18 processor and a single 48MP Fusion snapper that offers a clever two-in-one camera. As Apple explains, “The redesigned 48MP Fusion camera has the capabilities of two cameras in one. The 48MP sensor allows for up to 4x the resolution of older iPhone models — so you can capture stunning super‑high-resolution images that balance both light and detail. The integrated 2x Telephoto lets you zoom in with optical quality.”

Other features worth a mention include a durable design with toughened glass, wireless charging, a smart Action Button which launches favourite features faster and 128GB of storage.

Despite this being a lower-priced device, users are treated to Apple Intelligence which means the device can retouch photos, answer emails and sort inboxes automatically.

If £549 sounds a bit steep, Argos is also selling the older iPhone 14 at its lowest ever price. That means you’ll pay just £449 to own it.

It’s worth noting that this phone isn’t as fast as the iPhone 16e, and there’s no Apple Intelligence included, but it does get a dual-lens camera, 6.1-inch screen and extras such as Crash Detection, which alerts emergency contacts should you have an accident.
