The cheap price is all thanks to the Amazon Prime Day sale, which runs, confusingly, for four days this year from Tuesday July 8 to Friday July 11. That means this special price will only last until 11:59pm tomorrow, Friday July 11.
There are scores of savings to be had on many tech products, but this saving on the Inspire 3 caught my eye. According to price check site Camelcamelcamel, this Fitbit has only ever been cheaper than £59.99 once on Amazon, when it was £1 less in December last year.
One thing to bear in mind is that you need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to access this and any other deal, but you may be eligible for a free 30-day Prime trial, which will do the trick.
I’ve tested the whole range of current Fitbit trackers, and I’m a big fan of the Inspire 3 even though it’s the cheapest of the lot. It’s slim and lightweight compared to many alternative fitness bands, and the battery life is the best of any Fitbit at up to 10 days. It even squeezes in a tiny colour screen, not a given at this size and price.
The Inspire 3 links to any modern iPhone or Android phone via the Fitbit app, and can track steps, distance, calories burned and 20 different sports including walking, running, cycling and swimming thanks to being fully waterproof.
Compared to pricier Fitbits and other smartwatches it lacks built-in GPS, but all this means is you need to take your phone with you on a run if you want to track your route, so it’s not the biggest miss.
You do however get skin temperature variation tracking along with blood oxygen levels, heart rate variability and menstrual health tracking, several advanced features you might not expect in a Fitbit that’s on sale for less than £60 right now.
I enjoyed wearing the Inspire 3 when I tested it because you really can wear it all day and night and forget it’s there (in a good way), even leaving it on in the shower, if you want. Unlike bulkier trackers it doesn’t require taking off every day to give your wrist a rest, and that long battery life means you can go away for the weekend and not even take the charger.
Buying it even gets you six months of Fitbit Premium, the subscription service that gives you access to more data and coaching content that normally costs £7.99 per month.
One criticism of the Inspire 3 is the screen is a little poky, and it also can’t track as many sports and activities as the Fitbit Charge 6, which is currently reduced for Prime Day to £99.99, another good deal.
But if you want to pick up a dependable everyday fitness watch for casual use with more features than you might think, the Fitbit Inspire 3 is my pick.
