Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrates 25 years of ‘Refugee’


Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has shared throwback pictures from her debut film “Refugee”, as she completed 25 years in the film industry. Directed by JP Dutta, the film also starred debutant Abhishek Bachchan. The film was released on June 30, 2000.

Kareena posted a series of pictures from the film, alongside her co-star Bachchan, on her Instagram handle on Monday. “25 years and forever to go,” she captioned the post.

The film revolved around Bachchan’s character of a nameless Indian Muslim, who helps illegal refugees cross the border between India and Pakistan in the Great Rann of Kutch. He eventually falls in love with a refugee’s daughter (Khan).It also featured Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty and Anupam Kher.

Khan and Bachchan later worked together in “Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon” (2003), “LOC: Kargil” (2003) and “Yuva” (2004).
