NEW DELHI: Former cricketer Madan Lal has issued a stern rebuke regarding the inadequate planning and crowd control during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL celebrations at M. Seven individuals perished in the ensuing stampede, with additional casualties transported to Bowring Hospital and Vydehi Superspeciality Hospital for urgent care.“People will not forget this —or Virat Kohli. While people were dying outside, there was celebration inside. It’s truly shocking and disheartening. The families of the deceased should consider suing RCB and the state government for Rs 100 crore for this tragic mishap…BCCI is also shirking responsibility,” former Indian cricketer Madan Lal told IANS.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke to reporters post-incident, declaring a Rs 10 lakh compensation package for each bereaved family.Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar supported the security arrangements, stating, “We had arranged for 5,000 police personnel. We couldn’t use force on such a young, vibrant crowd.”According to a report, officials have verified that two deceased individuals are at Bowring Hospital, while four others are at Vaidehi Hospital. Six patients currently receive treatment in Vaidehi Hospital’s ICU, with three additional patients in intensive care.The Karnataka administration had previously cancelled the victory procession from Vidhana Soudha to Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium due to security concerns.
