In Madhya Pradesh, the Bhartiya Janata Party is leading in 160 out of the total 230 seats while Congress has 69 seats, as of 1 pm

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the minds of the people in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said as BJP leads in the state.

“BJP is going to get a huge mandate. PM Modi is in the minds of the people in Madhya Pradesh… It is the victory of PM Modi’s leadership,” Chouhan said.

He added, “It is the result of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s planning… Results do not come in one day, they come after continuous better work.”

In Madhya Pradesh, the Bhartiya Janata Party is leading in 160 out of the total 230 seats while Congress has 69 seats, as of 1 pm.

The election to the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly is a fight between the BJP and the Congress, whose then 15-month government, formed in the year 2018 was toppled from power in 2020 with help from Jyotiraditya Scindia who defected to BJP from the Congress.

Earlier today, Union Minister and party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed confidence in the people of the state and asserted that the party will form the government with an absolute majority.

“We knew that as far as Madhya Pradesh is concerned, given the public welfare schemes of our double engine government – people’s blessings will be with us… I am confident that their blessings will be with the BJP and we will form the government with absolute majority,” Scindia said.

Assembly elections were held in five states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram last month which is being viewed as the semi-final to the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections which is due in less than six months.
