BJP’s poll in-charge for Rajasthan Pralhad Joshi said the reason for the party’s comfortable victory is that the people wanted to get rid of Congress

With BJP leading in Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023, there has been a pertinent question in the minds of people on who would be the party’s Chief Minister candidate for the state.

BJP’s poll in-charge for Rajasthan Pralhad Joshi Sunday said, “The process to pick the new Chief Minister in Rajasthan will happen very soon and smoothly” as the party looks set to wrest the state from Congress.

The party did not declare a CM face in the run up to the election.

Frontrunner for Rajasthan CM post

As per reports, parliamentarian Mahant Balaknath, who contested the Rajasthan Assembly polls, is considered a favourite as the chief ministerial candidate.

Balaknath, who is a Lok Sabha MP from Alwar and is just 40-year-old, is leading from his Tijara constituency.

He also said the reason for the BJP’s comfortable victory is that the people wanted to get rid of Congress.

‘BJP will cross at least 124 seats in Rajasthan’

The Union Minister exuded confidence that BJP will win at least 124 of 199 seats in Rajasthan Assembly polls 2023.

“People have voted for BJP, positive commitment and the leadership of PM Modi… People have rejected Congress,” Maurya said.

“Congress party has always been giving bogus promises, people have seen it in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh. So they have failed. That’s why they have been rejected,” he said.

“I am very happy, we will cross at least 124 (seats) in Rajasthan,” the minister said.

‘Opposition will face worse results’

Intensifying his attack on Congress, Joshi said: “If opposition disrupts Parliament, it will face worse results than what have come today.”

On Congress’ win in Telangana, the minister said, “Congress benefited in Telangana from anti-incumbency against BRS; BJP needs to grow further there.”
