Novak Djokovic wins 100th ATP title, third man in Open Era to reach century mark

Novak Djokovic won his 100th ATP Tour level title after coming from behind to edge Hubert Hurkacz in Geneva on Saturday. In the process he joined a list featuring just three players to have won 100 ATP titles, trailing Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103).Djokovic beat Hurkacz 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 in a match that lasted over three hours. This is Djokovic’s first title since clinching the ATP Finals in November 2023 with his only triumph last year being the elusive gold medal at the Paris Olympics.Also including his gold medal at Olympics last year, Djokovic has become the first man in the Open Era to lift a trophy in 20 different seasons.The Serb has twice come within touching distance of joining Connors and Federer in the centurions list. He fell to Jannik Sinner in the Shanghai final last year and was stunned by Jakub Mensik in the Miami final in March.
By beating Hurkacz, Djokovic extended his head-to-head over the Pole to 8-0. After trailing by a set, the former World No. 1 also trailed 2-4 in the deciding third set before producing a turnaround and clinching the trophy.MOST ATP TITLES
