LIC premium payment through WhatsApp Bot launched

LIC premium payment through WhatsApp Bot launched


State-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched online facility for premium payment through WhatsApp bot.

Consequently, LIC customers have got one more alternate option to pay premium online. Registered customer portal users can check details on WhatsApp number 8976862090 of policies on which premium is due and make the payment through UPI/net banking/cards within the WhatsApp bot.

The full customer journey of identifying policies due for premium to the payment and receipt generation happens within the WhatsApp bot, LIC said after CEO and MD Siddhartha Mohanty in the presence of Managing Directors M. Jagannath, Tablesh Pandey, Sat Pal Bhanoo and R. Doraiswamy as well as other senior officials of the Corporation launched the facility on Friday.

The option will provide ease of operations for the customers and will be a handy tool to pay LIC premiums from anywhere, anytime through the fast growing medium of WhatsApp. It will help enhance efficiency and productivity ensuring better services to the customers, Mr.Mohanty said in a release.

There are more than 2.2 crore registered policyholders on LIC’s customer portal, with over 3 lakh customers logging in every day for availing various online services, the insurer said.
