NEW DELHI: Five-time champions Mumbai Indians etched their name deeper into Indian Premier League history on Sunday, becoming the first team to register 150 victories in the tournament’s history.
Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, MI cruised past Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow Super Giants with a dominant 54-run win at the Wankhede Stadium.

With this triumph, Mumbai Indians now have 150 wins and 121 losses from 271 matches, further cementing their status as the most successful team in IPL history.
Who’s that IPL player?
The victory was also MI’s fifth on the trot this season, propelling them to second place in the ten-team points table with 12 points from 10 games (six wins and four defeats).

In the list of most wins in IPL, fellow five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (140 wins from 248 matches) sit second, followed by three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (134 wins from 261 matches), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (129 wins from 266 matches), and Delhi Capitals (121 wins from 261 matches).
Punjab Kings (117 wins) and Rajasthan Royals (114 wins) are the other franchises to have crossed the 100-win mark.

Earlier, after being sent in to bat by LSG skipper Rishabh Pant, MI rode on fiery fifties from Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28 balls) and Ryan Rickelton (58 off 32 balls) to post a strong 215 for 7.
Jasprit Bumrah then starred with the ball, picking up 4/22, as Mumbai bowled out Lucknow for 161 in 20 overs to seal a commanding win.

This was also Mumbai’s first-ever league stage victory against LSG in seven attempts, having beaten them previously only once, during the Eliminator in IPL 2023.
