Travis Head reaches a unique milestone after his slowest IPL knock at Wankhede

Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Travis Head became the second-fastest player to reach 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
Head achieved this feat in just 575 balls. The quickest in IPL history is Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell, who crossed the 1000-run mark in 545 balls.

Interestingly, this was one of Travis Head’s slowest IPL innings in his 31 appearances. Head scored 28 off 29 balls, with three boundaries. Head was dismissed by Will Jacks, caught by Mitchell Santner.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL match on Thursday. MI are unchanged and senior batter Rohit Sharma is among the Impact Subs. SRH have also fielded the same playing XI.

Head, who has demolished bowlers throughout his IPL career, has now been dismissed by Will Jacks twice in three innings.

However, Head’s recent performance has declined. He has managed only 242 runs in seven innings, with a strike rate of 168.06.
In IPL 2024, Head played a pivotal role in reaching the final, amassing 567 runs with an explosive strike rate of 191.55.
