Shilpa Shetty’s Viral Combat Attire At Fashion Week Has Roots In Saharanpur | Video

Shilpa Shetty turned showstopper for designer Mohammed Mazhar at the Lakme Fashion Week. The actress slayed the ramp in a black and white zebra-striped saree. However, what caught attention in her outfit was the wooden bodice.

Mohammed Mazhar’s collection at the Lakme Fashion Week stood apart from others as it had its roots in his village in Uttar Pradesh. Like Shilpa Shetty, outfits of all the models who walked the ramp for the designer showcased a wooden artefact. Mazhar called the creation a tribute to the artisans of Saharanpur.

The designer’s vision of paying a tribute to the local artisans resonated well with Shilpa Shetty. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, the Dhadkan actress shared, “I think it’s a brilliant idea and a great initiative to create fashion and also create livelihood for these people in Saharanpur. I totally support the cause and the kind of fashion Mohamed churns out, I think it really is very innovative. It is very hard to work with wood, but he made it look so glamorous. It has given power dressing a new definition.” A video of the actress’ walk at the fashion event is now doing the rounds on social media.
