North Korean hackers behind $6.3 billion Binance crypto raid, says TRM Labs

Blockchain analysis firm TRM Labs says North Korea’s TraderTraitor hacking group carried out the $6.36 billion raid, moving funds across 10 blockchains in around 20 minutes

North Korean hackers were behind the suspected $6.3 billion cryptocurrency theft from Binance, according to US blockchain analysis firm TRM Labs.

The firm attributed the attack to TraderTraitor, an elite hacking unit linked to North Korea, based on what it described as strong on-chain and off-chain intelligence.

“An attacker moved approximately $6.36 billion out of Binance wallets on ten blockchains, most of it in about 20 minutes,” TRM Labs said in a blog post.
