Jio Platforms MD Akash Ambani outlined the company’s next phase of expansion across AI, cloud computing, connected devices and satellite connectivity after its landmark listing.
Jio Platforms Managing Director Akash Ambani on Wednesday pledged to protect and grow shareholder wealth following the company’s listing, describing Jio as a trustee of investors’ money and committing to deliver long-term value through customer-focused growth and innovation.
Thanking Indian and global investors for their overwhelming response to the initial public offering (IPO), Ambani said the issue attracted demand worth more than Rs 7.5 lakh crore, with over 1.3 crore Indians participating. The IPO was fully subscribed within 95 minutes, which he described as the fastest ever for an offering of its scale.
Ambani said the strong response had left him with a profound sense of responsibility towards investors, adding that Jio would focus on creating long-term value through customer-centric growth and innovation.
“As trustees of your wealth, our duty is to protect it and grow it, decade after decade,” he said, emphasising that delivering greater value to customers would remain central to the company’s strategy.
Jio bets on AI, cloud and satellite connectivity
Outlining Jio’s future priorities, Ambani said the company’s next decade would focus on making transformative technologies accessible to millions of Indians.
“In our next ten, we want to democratise every technology that can transform Indian lives: AI, Cloud, Connected devices, Connectivity even from space, and Digital services not yet imagined,” he said.
Jio’s platforms currently serve more than 540 million customers, reflecting the scale of its expansion since its launch, Ambani added.
He said the company aimed to build an integrated digital ecosystem in which connectivity, computing and intelligence work seamlessly together, enabling Indians across regions and languages to participate in the digital economy.
Ambani also reiterated Jio’s commitment to providing affordable, world-class digital infrastructure and services, describing the company as being built to serve the nation.
He credited Reliance founder Dhirubhai Ambani and chairman Mukesh Ambani for laying the foundation of the group’s growth.
Ambani said Jio would continue to innovate, strengthen its technology capabilities and take Indian technology to global markets.
“We will keep earning your trust. We will keep creating value. Every single day,” he said.
