‘Behind every number is a Jio customer’: Isha Ambani’s full speech at Jio listing ceremony

Isha Ambani credited Mukesh Ambani and Dhirubhai Ambani for Reliance’s growth, pledging to honour investor trust as Jio embarks on its next phase.

Reliance Retail Executive Director Isha Ambani on Wednesday thanked investors and customers for their trust in Reliance and Jio, crediting Mukesh Ambani and Dhirubhai Ambani for laying the foundation of the group’s growth, and pledged to uphold shareholders’ faith with integrity as she declared that “this is just the beginning” at Jio’s listing ceremony.

Full Speech:

“Respected Kokila Mummy, distinguished guests, our shareholders, and my dear Reliance family, Namaskar.

A few evenings ago, at our dinner table, my father, Shri Mukeshbhai Ambani, was remembering his days in 1977. He was 20 years old, working on Reliance’s first public offering.

My grandfather, Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, had decided to take Reliance to the people. Not to a few wealthy investors. To the people.

Rs 2.82 crore raised, at a valuation of ₹10 crore.

My father smiled and said he could never have imagined how far Shri Krishna’s blessings would carry this journey, and how proud my grandfather, Mota Papa, would be.

Here is a man who has spent his whole life making the impossible possible. And he still speaks of it with the wonder of someone seeing it for the first time. —

He dreams like he is just beginning.

My grandfather believed that anyone in this country, however humble their beginnings, deserved a share in India’s growth… Not as spectators. As owners. So, he asked ordinary families to trust him. And they did, with their savings, and with their dreams.

Almost 50 years later, that trust has come full circle.

My grandfather placed his dream in the hands of the people. Today, you have placed a part of your future in ours.

To every investor, thank you… For your belief in what we can build together… And for choosing to carry this dream forward with us.

We accept that faith with gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of duty.

Jio is built on my father’s first principles: create real value for the customer, and strong earnings will follow. That is our dharma.

This year, Jio earned about $15.5 billion in revenue, and about $8 billion in real earnings..

Very few companies anywhere in the world have done this, that too in only 10 years old.

But behind every number is a customer. And to every customer: Jio aapne banaya. You welcomed it into your homes, your shops, your classrooms, and your lives… with open arms, and we are so grateful

And behind every great dream are the people who carry it.

Akash, for the 13 years on this journey, I don’t think you’ve come home a single night before midnight. I could not be prouder to be your sister.

Manoj Uncle, Akash and I both began our careers under your guidance – thank you for your wisdom!

To our Jio team, many of whom are here today: You were our first teachers. You took this dream and made it yours. Your belief and dedication made it real.

Anand, Shloka, Radhika: you make every joy bigger, and every challenge lighter.

Mamma, your strength and grace are the roots beneath our family, and beneath our Reliance Family. You give us the wings to fly.

And finally, my dearest Prithvi, Aadiya, Krishna, and Veda: you are the reason for us to be better every day. You all are the light in our lives.

And today isn’t a finish line. It isn’t. It’s a promise.

Akash, Anant, and I renew my grandfather’s promise to every investor and every customer. We will honour your trust with integrity, and we will keep building. Because, as my grandfather taught us, growth is life.

And finally, to my father, Shri Mukeshbhai Ambani

Again and again, my father has seen a future others could not yet see.

Again and again, he has found the courage to build what others called impossible.

And again and again, hundreds of millions of Indians have found new possibilities and ambitions in his vision.

Different industries. Different decades. The same faith in India — the same unshakeable conviction that our best is yet to come.

And this is just the beginning.

To my father, I say, Papa, with all our love and gratitude, thank you! We are here today because of you.

Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in honouring Shri Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani, on this momentous day.

And now, it is my privilege to invite the person whose leadership I have witnessed with utmost pride, my brother, the Managing Director of Jio, Akashbhai Ambani.

Thank you. Jai Hind!”
