Sikandar Vs L2 Empuraan Advance Booking Day 1: Worrying Trend Common Between Eid Releases

Sikandar Vs L2 Empuraan Advance Booking Day 1: The Eid period will see some of the most anticipated Indian movies hitting the big screens. While L2: Empuraan will arrive a few days before the big festival, setting the stage for a good weekend collection, Sikandar will arrive on Eid, with hopes of scoring a big win at the box office. Both movies are expected to perform well. But which will have the upper hand?

Director AR Murugadoss, who has worked predominantly in the Tamil film industry, is returning to Bollywood 17 years after his Hindi debut Ghajini. The Aamir Khan starter became the first Hindi film to collect ₹100 crore at the domestic box office. Now, with the director’s return to the North with Sikandar, he is expected to make a splash at the ticket window.

According to Sacnilk, Sikandar has collected ₹2.58 crore all over India so far, with 4 more days to go before its release on Eid. As the date nears, the numbers are expected to witness a boost. On Eid and onwards, Sikandar is expected to give tough competition to Mohanlal starter L2: Empuraan in the North and some South circuits.

L2: Empuraan eyes record opening but…

L2: Empuraan is all set to release on March 27. Through pre-sales only, the movie has become the biggest Malayalam opener of all time. However, nearly half of its collections are through blocked seats (corporate bookings). The same is the case with Sikandar, which has touched ₹8 crore mark in advance bookings for day 1 with blocked seats. In the case of Sikandar, it seems like collection through corporate bookings or self bookings will be in the range of 60-70 percent.
