India-US trade portal attracts 31,000 visitors, registers 2,500 exporters and importers in three months

The portal has listed over 4,000 products since its launch, with Indian Ambassador Vinay Kwatra saying it will boost business partnerships and help achieve the $500-billion bilateral trade target by 2030

The India-US Trade Facilitation Portal had attracted more than 31,000 visitors, registered over 2,500 exporters and importers, and listed more than 4,000 products in less than three months since its launch.

Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra said he was pleased with the portal’s progress and expressed confidence that it would strengthen business-to-business ties, foster commercial partnerships and create new opportunities for businesses in both countries.

“Really pleased that the India-USA Trade Facilitation Portal has made significant progress in less than three months of it being launched. I am extremely confident that the portal will expand business-to-business relationships, commercial partnerships, create new opportunities for businesses and contribute to us achieving the target of Mission 500, a trade target set by PM Modi and President in February 2025,” Kwatra said in a post shared on X on July 18, 2026.

The India-USA Trade Facilitation Portal was officially launched on April 8, 2026, to directly connect Indian exporters with American buyers and help scale bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030

On February 13, 2025, PM Modi and President Trump had announced several initiatives to strengthen bilateral trade and defence ties, including Mission 500, which aims to increase bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.

The two leaders also announced the US-India Compact for the 21st Century to deepen cooperation in defence, commerce and technology, alongside plans to pursue a bilateral trade agreement.

The proposed trade agreement was intended to cover multiple sectors, with its first phase initially expected to be concluded by fall 2025.

The two countries also outlined a 10-year defence framework for 2025-2035, focusing on cooperation in areas such as defence procurement and co-production.

These initiatives form part of broader efforts to deepen the India-US strategic partnership and expand economic and commercial cooperation.
