In the most recent, it has been revealed that the much-awaited Taiwan meet and greet scheduled for March 30, has been officially cancelled barring a major scare for the actor.

Amid the ongoing controversy, Kim Soo Hyun will no longer attend the 2025 Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival aka 2025 Sakura Festival, in Taiwan. Despite this, his photo remained on the event’s official website.
On March 25, the official Instagram account of Taiwan’s 7-Eleven announced that the actor would not appear at the event. They informed fans that refunds would be issued, although attendees could still enjoy other performances for free on the same day.
“Those who purchased a ticket for 30 March 2025 will still be able to enter and watch the performances on that day. The organiser will begin the refund process on 31 March 2025 at 10 am. Those who purchased a ticket for 30 March 2025 can request a full refund.”
The second update provided additional details about the refund process and clarified that the cancellation was due to a “schedule change.”
“Performing guest Kim Soo Hyun is unable to attend the event ‘Kim Soo Hyun fanmeeting,’ originally scheduled for 30 March 2025, due to a schedule change. OPENPOINT points will be fully refunded to participating members. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.”
Initially, reports indicated that 50 police officers would be deployed at the event, marking the actor’s first public appearance since the scandal. However, the event was ultimately cancelled. This was the much-awaited greet and might scare him ₩1.32 billion (around $911,000) as the cancellation penalty.
How many fans were waiting for Kim Soo Hyun in Taiwan?
The Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival in Taiwan, hosted by 7-Eleven, featured Kim Soo Hyun as the brand’s model. The event included a private 40-minute fan meeting with the actors, attended by 200 lucky fans chosen through a lottery system.

Earlier, Disney+ recently postponed the upcoming K-drama Knock Off, leaving its future uncertain. Production was originally set to begin in April 2025, but the creators have now expressed doubts about moving forward.
