Nana Patekar passes away: Emotional tributes pour in for veteran actor

Sportspersons, including Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan and many others, paid tribute to veteran actor Nana Patekar following his death on Thursday.Former India captain Rahane remembered Patekar’s contribution to cinema and praised the impact of his work over the years. In a post on X, Rahane described the veteran actor as a “truly remarkable actor”.“Nana Patekar ji was a truly remarkable actor whose work has inspired and entertained generations. Very sad to hear about his passing. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.Dhawan also expressed his grief over Patekar’s death. The former India opener called him a special talent and said his work would continue to inspire generations.“Indian cinema has lost a truly special talent today. Nana Patekar saab, your work will continue to inspire generations. Om Shanti.” Dhawan said in an X post.

Patekar’s contribution to cinema

Patekar was a prominent figure in Hindi and Marathi cinema. He began his acting career with the 1978 film ‘Gaman’ and went on to earn widespread recognition through several acclaimed performances.Some of his notable films include ‘Parinda,’ ‘Prahar,’ ‘Angaar,’ ‘Krantiveer,’ ‘Tiranga,’ ‘Khamoshi’ and ‘Ab Tak Chhappan,’ among others.Patekar continued to remain active in the film industry in recent years. He was also part of ‘Housefull 5’, which starred Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh and others.
