2 killed, 25 injured as gunfire erupts at homecoming party in Georgia

Their identities have not been released as authorities continue to investigate the incident.Dooly County Sheriff Craig Peavy said shots were fired at two separate locations about a block apart. At least 25 people were taken to hospitals following the shooting, while the overall number of people injured could be as high as 35.The incident occurred during a homecoming celebration that had drawn a large crowd to the area. Authorities have not yet disclosed what may have led to the shooting or whether the gunfire involved a dispute between individuals.The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting local authorities with the investigation. Officials have not released details about any arrests or identified a suspect in connection with the shooting.The violence in Vienna came amid a weekend of shootings across the United States, including a deadly incident in Baltimore, where a 12-year-old girl was killed and three others were injured after gunfire broke out near a youth football event.In the Baltimore incident, police said an argument between two men apparently began over a parking spot before both opened fire. The girl was a bystander and was struck by gunfire.Authorities are continuing to investigate the Vienna shooting, including the circumstances surrounding the gunfire and the exact number of people injured.
