Will Anushka Sharma Flout BCCI’s Family Diktat By Attending RCB Vs KKR IPL 2025 Opener?

IPL 2025: The 18th season of the Indian Premier League with commence today with the opening clash between previous year’s champions KKR ( Kolkata Knight Riders ) and RCB ( Royal Challengers Bangalore ) in Eden Gardens Kolkata. Anushka Sharma is expected to be in the stands for the match as her husband and India’s star batsman Virat Kohli plays for RCB. However, the actress’ appearance in the matches has become a question following BCCI’s new directive.

As part of the new SOPs, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has restricted the presence of family members on the practice days and final matches during overseas tournaments. As per Cricbuzz, the new regulation also suggests that the family members of the players will have to travel in different vehicles, while the players are required to move with their team. The SOP also states that the family members can watch the practices from the hospitality area. However, the rules are not applicable to domestic tournaments like IPL.

Consequently, there is no restriction for Anushka Sharma to watch the KKR vs RCB opener at IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens today, March 22. However, whether she will attend or not will only be confirmed once the match begins at 6 PM.

Ahead of the opening match between RCB and KKR, the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was sneakily video-calling his wife during a training session. A clip, now viral on social media, shows Virat Kohli talking to Anushka Sharma on a video call during the break. The couple’s mushy moments during matches have always been a talking point.

The IPL 2025 opening ceremony is set to be a star-studded image. The event will feature performances by Disha Patani , Shreya Ghoshal and Karan Aujla.
