Can’t Wait For L2 Empuraan? Watch Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran Starrer Prequel Lucifer On OTT On These Platforms



Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran charmed their way into the hearts of fans with film Lucifer. The duo are now all geared up for the follow up of the first part, ie, L2: Empuraan. Before its release, viewers can relive the movie online on OTT platforms. 

The Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil version of Lucifer starring Mohanlal in lead role is available on Amazon Prime Video. While, the Hindi dubbed version of Lucifer is available on Sony Liv with English subtitles. On OTTplay Premium, you can watch it in Hindi version. Moreover, Lucifer is re-released in cinemas on March 20, 2025.

The first part, Lucifer earned over ₹200 crore at the box office and turned out to be the second Malayalam movie to hit the milestone after Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan in 2016. Helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film stars Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajit Sukumaran, Sanjay Iyyapan, Saikumar and Nyla Usha among others.

The pre-production of the film began in the year 2017. The film was released in theatres worldwide on March 28, 2019. The film was later also dubbed and released in Tamil and Telugu.

L2: Empuraan marks the third project between Mohanlal and Prithviraj. They were last seen on the screen together in Bro Daddy, which was released in 2022. Murali Gopy, the writer of Lucifer, has also worked on the sequel being produced by Antony Perumbavoor.

Empuraan is scheduled to be released in theatres worldwide on 27 March 2025 in standard and IMAX formats, making it the first Malayalam film to be released in IMAX. In March 2025, Sree Gokulam Movies joined the film as a co-producer, following Lyca Productions’ withdrawal from the project due to financial constraints. The film’s soundtrack was composed by Deepak Dev, with the cinematography and editing handled by Sujith Vaassudev and Akhilesh Mohan.
