Updated WTC Points Table after India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test: Where does Gautam Gambhir's side stand?

India and Sri Lanka played out a draw in the second Test at Colombo’s Sinhalese Sports Club, meaning India finished the two-match series 1-0 ahead.India looked firmly in control after declaring on 503/9 and dismissing Sri Lanka for 290, but the hosts produced a determined second-innings performance to save the match.

India dominate before Sri Lanka fight back

Devdutt Padikkal scored 117 and Dhruv Jurel made an unbeaten 115 as India crossed 500. Rishabh Pant added 63, while Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando took four wickets. India’s bowlers then restricted the hosts to 290, with Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar taking three wickets each.India enforced the follow-on, needing 10 wickets to win and complete a 2-0 sweep. Sri Lanka, however, refused to collapse again. Sonal Dinusha followed his first-innings century with an unbeaten 133, while Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored 92 and Kamindu Mendis made 55. Sri Lanka reached 429/9 before time ran out.

WTC points table after the Colombo draw

The draw leaves India fifth in the World Test Championship standings with 68 points and a 51.52% points percentage. Sri Lanka remain sixth with 24 points and a 33.33% percentage.
