L2 Empuraan Advance Booking: Mohanlal Starrer Sequel Beats Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo Record A Week Before Release

Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated movie L2: Empuraan. The second installment of Lucifer is receiving positive reviews from movie buffs after the makers unveiled the trailer, hinting that the movie will earn well at the box office. Six days ahead of the movie, the makers have opened the advance booking window in India. It’s been only a few hours and the movie has already started breaking the records.

Helmed by Prithviraj, the movie has so far sold 45766 tickets across 604 shows in India, minting ₹1.44 crore (including the block seats). The movie has collected a maximum in Kerala ₹1.32 crore, followed by Karnataka ₹9.35 lakhs, per Sacnilk. The movie now holds the highest hourly pre-sales record on Book My Show with around 96.14 thousand tickets sold, overtaking Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo’s record (82 thousand tickets/hour).

Will Mohanlal and Vikram re-create history by giving a blockbuster hit despite a box office clash?

9 years ago, Chiyaan Vikram and Mohanlal clashed at the box office when their respective movies Iru Mugan and Oppam clashed at the box office. Both the movies received positive reviews and became commercially successful in India. Now, the history is set to repeat itself as Vikram and Mohanlal will be clashing at the box office once again on March 27. Both the movies – L2 Empuraan and Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 – are being praised by the fans, widely. Recently, the makers of both films unveiled the trailers, and soon after they were trending high on X (formerly Twitter).

Seeing the movie buffs’ reaction, it seems both movies will earn well at the box office posing a great threat to each other’s collection.
