Officer On Duty On OTT: Netizens Declare Kunchacko Boban’s Malayalam Crime Thriller As ‘Intense’ And ‘Terrifying’



Kunchacko Boban starrer Officer On Duty  released in cinemas on February 20 and opened to positive reviews from audience and critics. After a month, the crime thriller finally made its digital debut, much to the excitement of fans. Fans who missed out on watching it in cinemas, gave their verdict on social media.

Jithu Ashraf’s directorial has already begun streaming on OTT. The streaming giant Netflix took to their official handle for the announcement. Along with the poster, the caption read, “When the officer steps in, crimes step out. Watch Officer On Duty now on Netflix in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada!”

Post this, mostly all reviews sing high praises of the lead actor and the storyline. Netizens even commented that the film is decent but ‘worth’ watching. One user wrote “Amazing movie! Just finished watching!!”. Another user wrote, “So, I’ll watch it a third time, then”. “So, I’ll watch it a third time, then”, wrote the third user.

According to a report in Sacnilk, Officer On Duty’s India net collection is ₹30.22 crore and gross is ₹35.09 crore. While worldwide the film minted ₹17.75 crore. Kunchacko’s portrayal of a demoted police officer investigating a fake gold chain racket, which uncovers a mystery and entangles him in a web of dangerous crime, has grabbed everyone’s attention.

Officer on Duty is helmed by Jithu Asharef and is written by Shahi Kabir. The crime thriller stars Priyamani, Kunchacko Boban, Jagadish, VishaK Nair, Ramzan Muhammed, Manoj KU, Srikant Murali and Unni Lalu among others.

The Malayalam film tells the story of a demoted police inspector who investigates a counterfeit jewellery racket which becomes entangled in a dangerous  web of crime that puts his life at stake.
